Jen's Journey to Hobart

sailboat-1149519_960_720.jpg

When Jen was 12 years old her Dad went missing, washed overboard after the 1994 Sydney Hobart yacht race. He was never found. Fast forward to September 2014, and his brother Andrew (Jen's Uncle) leaves work on Christmas Island on a ‪Friday afternoon‬ and is never seen again.

Over 38,000 Australians are reported missing every year, that's over 100 people every day, or one person every 14 minutes. Sometimes, there are glorious discoveries and joyful reunions. But then there are the achingly long hours, that turn to agonising days and then years and still nothing. In 2013, Missing Persons Advocacy Network (MPAN) was founded as a support network for families just like Jen's.

Jenifer's goal is to sail the 2016 Sydney Hobart not only for herself, her Dad and for Andrew, but in honour of all of those that have had their stories cut short. All while raising awareness and hopefully some money for the MPAN. Follow this link to donate to Jen's Go Fund Me campaign. Let's see Jen race in the next Sydney to Hobart! Here's Jen's amazing story...
