New Masterchef Judges Revealed
The trio of Judges who will replace George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston on MasterChef have been revealed, but get ready to say 'who'?
Network Ten has announced that Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen will step into some pretty big shoes for the next season in 2020.
Zonfrillo was named Australia’s Hottest Chef in 2018 and has hosted television shows including Nomad Chef, Restaurant Revolution and Chef Exchange according to news.com.au.
Leong is an accomplished food and travel writer, food media consultant, radio broadcaster, television presenter, MC and cookbook editor reports news.com.au.
Andy Allen is actually a former contestant. He who won season four.
Network 10 chief content officer Beverley McGarvey told news.com.au, "in a nation obsessed with food, we are thrilled to welcome Jock, Melissa and Andy as judges to MasterChef Australia".
“Their combined culinary credentials coupled with their passion and sheer joy for food, and their relentless enthusiasm to explore ingredients, preparation and cooking methods ensures we are in for a real treat.”
The news comes after the shock news earlier this year, before the final episode of the 2019 season had aired, that Matt, Gary and George were leaving the cooking show.
There was speculation about whether it had something to do with George who had been fined $200,000 for underpaying staff but TV executives denied that.
At the time, the official word was that they could not agree on the terms of the new contract.
So now we just have to wait and see how the newcomers perform and if they will be able to win over the Australian audience.
