A Mount Louisa teenager has died in an e-scooter crash on the Flinders Highway. Paramedics were called to the incident in Roseneath early Saturday morning, where they found the 18-year-old man with critical injuries. He was taken to Townsville University Hospital and died soon after.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident. Anyone with information that could assist police investigations is urged to contact police.
It comes weeks after a parliamentary inquiry into the use of personal mobility devices was announced, with the Crisafulli Government saying there was a 112% rise from 2021 to 2024 in injuries to PMD riders, passengers, and pedestrians. Tragically, eight PMD users died in Queensland last year.
