Two North Queensland men charged with historic child sex offences

Two men have been charged in relation to historic child sex offences in North Queensland.

Police say the alleged offences were committed against a girl known to both men in Julia Creek, Boulia and Townsville between 1970 and 1978.

An 82-year-old man has been charged with nine child sex offences, while a 74-year-old man is facing one count of indecent treatment of a girl under the age of 17.

Both are set to face court in Julia Creek next Thursday (July 11).

Detectives believe there may be more potential victims, and are calling on anyone with information of similar incidents between the 1960s and 1970s to come forward.
