Some TAFE Campuses Remain Closed

UPDATE | Several TAFE Queensland campuses in the region remain closed following the flooding.

· Burdekin campus closed on Wednesday, 13 February

· Aitkenvale campus closed for the remainder of the week

Some students and teachers from the Aitkenvale campus have been relocated temporarily to the Pimlico campus.

Students can find out more about their rescheduled classes by visiting www.tafeqld.edu.au.

Students returning to campus will be offered learning support and private counselling to ensure that they receive the guidance they need to achieve their study goals.

Students with any concerns or questions can call 1300 308 233.

Another update will be distributed tomorrow.

EARLIER | Following recent severe weather, TAFE Queensland would like to advise that the following campuses remain closed:

· Burdekin campus closed on Tuesday, 12 February

· Aitkenvale campus closed for the remainder of the week

EARLIER | TAFE Queensland would like to advise that the following campuses will remain closed on Monday, 11 February:

  • Townsville Aitkenvale campus
  • Burdekin campus

A decision has been made to re-open the following TAFE Queensland campuses on Monday, 11 February:

  • Townsville Pimlico campus
  • Townsville Trade Training Centre
  • Palm Island campus

Classes have been rescheduled and students can find out more about their return date by visiting our website: www.tafeqld.edu.au

Students should only attend campus if it safe for them to do so.

UPDATE 7/2/19 | Due to bad weather, TAFE Queensland would like to advise that the following campuses will remain closed on Friday:

  • Townsville Aitkenvale campus
  • Townsville Pimlico campus
  • Townsville Trade Training Centre
  • urdekin campus
  • Palm Island campus

The safety of our staff and students is TAFE Queensland’s highest priority and we will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates via the TAFE Queensland website.

State Government officials will need to inspect each campus and give the all clear before classes can resume.

UPDATE 7/2/19 | Due to bad weather, TAFE Queensland would like to advise that the following campuses are closed on Thursday.

  • Townsville Aitkenvale campus
  • Townsville Pimlico campus
  • Townsville Trade Training Centre
  • Burdekin campus
  • Palm Island campus

At this stage, a decision has also been made to keep the Palm Island campus closed on Friday, 8 February.

The safety of our staff and students is TAFE Queensland’s highest priority and we will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates via the TAFE Queensland website.

EARLIER | Several TAFE campuses remain closed due to recent extreme weather in North Queensland.

The following campuses will not open on Thursday:

Townsville Aitkenvale campus
Townsville Pimlico campus
Townsville Trade Training Centre
Palm Island campus

At this stage, a decision has also been made to keep the Palm Island campus closed on Friday and updates about other campuses will be provided on Thursday.
