On Wednesday, the Northern Stingers team presented Ruth Coleman, the coordinator of the Townsville Support Group of Parkinson’s Queensland Inc, with a cheque for $2,117.
Ruth was also presented with the team jersey and team charity polo which both bear the Northern Stingers logo.
Every year, the Northern Stingers have proudly partnered with a not-for-profit organisation to conduct fundraising as part of their state championship preparations and fund raise through a variety of avenues with the generous support of the community.
During the past seven years, the Northern Stingers have donated nearly $30,000 to community charities, including Townsville Hospital Foundation, Bowel Cancer Australia, Daniel Morcombe Foundation, Autism Spectrum Australia, Sam Faust Foundation, Leukaemia Foundation and NRL Cowboys House.
Come along and support the QPS Northern Stingers when they come up against the Townsville Corrections team on Sunday, June 29 at 1.00pm at the Brothers Leagues Club as a curtain raiser to the Townsville Mendi Blackhawks game.
