Townsville police are continuing to crack down on repeat offenders, with almost 300 people arrested in just over two weeks.

Since August 9, officers have taken 287 people into custody – 216 adults and 71 juveniles – on a total of 997 charges. Offences include property crime, traffic matters, domestic violence breaches and bail violations.

The operation combines highly visible policing with covert measures, targeting offenders causing the most harm to the community. Patrols are focusing on hotspot areas such as the CBD, the Safe Night Precinct, shopping centres and transport hubs.
