It’s been revealed the person shot by police at a Townsville beer garden last night was a 17-year-old girl
Multiple officers were called to West End Hotel on Ingham Road just before 5.30pm on Tuesday, where the girl allegedly armed with a knife and making threats.
Police say she ‘came at them’ with the weapon and was shot in stomach. Officers then provider her first aid and she was taken to Townsville University Hospital for surgery – she’s now in a stable condition.

The Ethical Standards Command is now investigating the incident, subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
