Following the terrorist attack at Bondi Beach on Sunday night, the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood has issued urgent requests for blood donations – particularly from people with type O negative blood.

Thousands of Australians have already responded, rolling up their sleeves to help meet the immediate need.

O negative blood is often in highest demand during emergencies because it can be used universally in transfusions, making it critical for treating trauma patients when blood type matching isn’t possible.
