Five teens injured in crash in alleged stolen car at Garbutt

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after an alleged stolen car crashed in Garbutt early this morning, injuring five teenagers.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene on Hamill Street and Woolcock Street at around 2.45am, after a Mazda CX5 reportedly left the road and hit a tree.

Three teenage girls one with chest and serious leg injuries, one with neck and back injuries and a third with a leg injury were transported to Townsville University Hospital.

Along with two teenage boys, one with leg injuries and the second with seatbelt related injuries.

Paramedics say all five patients were transported in stable conditions.

The car had reportedly been stolen from a house in Chaimberlane Place at Kirwan late on Thursday night.

Investigations are continuing.
