The Queensland Police Service is seeking assistance from the public to help locate a missing distraction device.
It was discovered missing during a routine weapons audit following the response to a siege at Kirwan on Sunday.
Police carried out extensive searches on Thursday however, they have been unable to locate the device.
The device is not a lethal device but has the capacity to cause injury to a person in close proximity if handled incorrectly.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson says members of the public who have information about the location of this device may not know the significance of such a piece of equipment and are urged not to tamper with it and call police immediately.
“In keeping with the police standards a review will be conducted into the circumstance of the matter,” they say.
