A new local tool is hoping to make it easier to understand fuel availability in our region.
Townsville City Council has added a fuel supplies section to our Emergency Management and Disaster Dashboard.
It’ll show the current cost and availability of Diesel and Unleaded, aiming to minimise panic buying and ease stress around filling up.
Mayor Nick Dametto says the addition to the dashboard would help residents make informed decisions about their fuel use.
“Fuel price and availability is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. It’s an essential part of modern life no matter whether it’s for getting to work, dropping the kids at school, or running your own business,” Cr Dametto says.
“The reality of the current global fuel crisis is that some areas are facing fuel shortages, but by providing an easy-to-use map for residents we can alleviate some of these fears and reduce panic buying.”
