The North Barrier branch won four gold, four silver and seven bronze medals across the four days of competitions.

Team Manager Adam West says the team enjoyed the opportunity to compete against other clubs and represent the North Barrier region proudly.

“It’s just wonderful to bring the branch together, come down here and mix it with the best in the State, it’s awesome,” he says.

“They love it and thankfully conditions compared to last year are magnificent.

“It’s flat water so the surf is not too imposing for our kids. It is a totally different environment for them up there [North Barrier] so they are absolutely loving it here.

“For these kids if they make finals, if they’re mixing it in that top 10 is great and then for the few that get into those podium positions, I mean it’s just gravy for us.”
