Townsville detectives have released CCTV as they search for the man who stabbed a 55‑year‑old at an ATM in the CBD. The attack happened around 9pm on Saturday at the corner of Denham and Flinders Streets, where the offender approached the Pimlico man and stabbed him in the neck before stealing his bank card. The victim was taken to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.
Police say the offender, described as First Nations and wearing a red bandana over his face, fled on foot and was last seen in the area. Investigators have also released footage of a blue vehicle believed to be linked to the incident.
Anyone who recognises the man, or who has CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone vision from the CBD between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, is urged to contact police as investigations continue.
