Rasmussen man, 22, faces dozens of new child exploitation charges

A 22 year old has been granted bail after being charged with 87 new child exploitation material charges.

It’s alleged the Rasmussen man was found possessing the material when police raided his home in South Townsville earlier this month.

He has been charged with dozens of new offences last week and faced court on Friday – and hasn’t entered a plea.

On Thursday police caught up with him again – charging him with 87 new offences.

The offences include 38 counts of making child exploitation material, 24 counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence, 13 charges of distributing child exploitation material – hidden network/anonymous service, eight counts of distributing child exploitation material, three counts of indecent treatment of child under 16 (expose) and possessing child exploitation material.

Bail was granted in court under strict conditions, including no access to the internet or social media and not to approach a child.

News Corp reporting the offence involved AI photos – with Mr Ford expected to return to court in April.
