Two teenage boys have been charged over a serious traffic crash at Garbutt which hospitalised five people.
It’s alleged on Friday morning around 2.45am a stolen car was travelling north on Woolcock Street when it left the road and crashed into a tree.
There were five teenagers in the car who were all taken to hospital, two of them with serious injuries.
A 15-year-old Palm Island boy has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicenced driving, fail to provide a specimen of blood, five counts of enter dwelling and commit indictable offence and two counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent to commit indictable offence.
A 13-year-old Wulguru boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of unlicenced driving, driving without due care or attention, and wilful damage.
Investigations are continuing.
