Woman killed in two-vehicle collision on Bruce Highway south of Ayr

A 70-year-old woman has passed away following a two-vehicle collision at Inkerman, south of Ayr.

Emergency crews were called to the scene after a Honda HR-V and a Hyundai I30 crashed on the Bruce Highway near Wallace Road, at around 1.20pm yesterday.

The 70-year-old woman from Gumlu, driving the Hyundai I30, passed away at the scene.

A 61-year-old Ayr woman driving the Honda HR-V was injured and airlifted to Townsville University Hospital.

Townsville Forensic Crash Unit is urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.
