Our Favourite New Music From Australian Artists That Released in 2025

December 26, 2025 1:00 pm in by

I hope we can all agree that Australian music is absolutely world class, and 2025 has been a great year for Aussie music. With the year coming to a close we wanted to highlight some of our favourite albums and EPs that released in 2025. But genuinely, we are blessed with choice, there have been so many releases across the entire year and narrowing the list down was too difficult. So, to make it easier we’ve limited it to our top 10 and it must’ve released after January 1st 2025 and must be either an EP or LP, no singles on this list! (I’m sorry Amyl, Cartoon Darkness would be in my top three but it released late October 2024)

From returning legends to rising new comers, so in no order at all, here are some of our favourite new albums or EP’s from 2025. (I’m so sorry everyone else I love you all, I’ll make it up to you I promise!)

Back in February of this year the beloved Aussie Indie Rock artists announced that that their newest album Like Love, was releasing in April. Ball Park Music last released an album back in May of 2022 with Weirder & Weirder. The group deliberately stripped back their sound for their eighth studio album to focus on the songwriting and vocal arrangements and it’s pure nostalgic magic.

Spacey Jane – If That Makes Sense

Spacey Jane are back with their third studio album, If That Makes Sense. If That Makes Sense is Spacey Janes most unique album yet. After a year long hiatus from performing live the band announced they would be releasing a new album in May of 2025. The band themselves have been going through a transformation after relocating to LA, the band even diving into their vulnerability after such a change for this album.

Ninajirachi – I Love My Computer

New comer Ninajirachi is set to explode after cleaning up at the ARIA awards earlier this year. The DJ released their debut track in August of this year titled I Love My Computer and it’s since swept through the dance and nightclub scene. Ninajirachi shared that a lot of the album is an exploration of their childhood and their relationship with their computer.

Hilltop Hoods – Fall From the Light

The Aussie Hip-Hop veterans from Adelaide are back with their newest album Fall From the Light. Their previous album, released back in 2019, this marked the largest gap between albums the band had ever seen. Their newest album, as described by the band has an underlying theme of honesty. This marks their ninth studio album in roughly 30-years, and they don’t seem to be going anyway anytime soon.

Tame Impala – Deadbeat

Perth’s psychedelic pop icon is back with their fifth studio album, Deadbeat. Predicting what a Tame Impala is going to be like is a hard feat with how much Parker likes to defy expectations. It’s one of those “you just gotta listen to it man!” albums.

Blasting back on the scene with their sixth studio album, 5SOS returns to our ears with a moody pop album that explores themes of change and loneliness.

Paul Kelly – Seventy

The story teller goes again. Paul Kelly, Australian royalty, has released his 30th studio album. Yep, a whopping thirty albums. The album is titled Seventy, to mark the musicians age when the album released. With songs varying in different tones and inspirations it’s a real roller coaster of emotions as the musical veteran explores family, intergenerational trauma, and aging.

Royel Otis – Hickey

Sydney’s own Royel Otis returns with their second album, hickey. Hickey is divisive and earned a bit of controversy after their single “Moody” was interpreted to feature misogynistic lyrics, something which the band emphasises was never intended to be conveyed that way. Despite this, the single landed their first billboard Number 1. The album released in August and landed in the number 1 spot on the ARIA charts.

Ocean Alley – Love Balloon

Ocean Alley rocked their way back into our ears when their fifth studio album released in September. The album features a wide array of emotional pieces that accumulate towards an emotional hot air balloon ride of a rock album.

Parcels – LOVED

Byron Bay born and bred, but straight outta Belin. Parcels newest album is the joyful dance experience we all didn’t know we needed. LOVED was recorded all over the world in Berlin, Byron Bay, Sydney and even Mexico City to create a laid back and joyful treat to the ears.

What do you think? Did your favourite make it up here? It’s more important than ever that we back and support Australian artists, especially with the ongoing AI crisis. If you love a particular artists work make sure you support them in anyway you can!
