Star Trek Icon Responds to Emergency Reports
William Shatner, best known for his iconic role as Captain James T. Kirk, was briefly at the centre of health scare headlines this week. Reports from the US claimed the 94-year-old had been rushed to hospital from his LA home after a suspected blood sugar issue.

‘I’m Perfectly Fine,’ Says Shatner
The Canadian actor quickly shut down rumours, posting a cheeky update on Instagram: “Rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated! I overindulged… I’m perfectly fine. Don’t trust tabloids or AI!” His agent also confirmed Shatner was never hospitalised and is recovering well at home.
Still Boldly Going
Despite his age, Shatner remains active in entertainment and public life. In 2021, he made history by becoming the oldest person to travel to space aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket, a nod to his Star Trek legacy.

Australian fans can breathe easy: Captain Kirk is still boldly going strong.
