Online Retailer Suddenly Shuts Down
Australian online retailer Oz Goods Depot has officially gone into liquidation, leaving thousands of customers chasing refunds and missing orders.
The company sold everything from furniture and kitchen appliances to homewares and electronics. But this week, shoppers were met with a message confirming the business had stopped trading.
Customers with unshipped orders were told refunds could no longer be processed directly through the company. Instead, they were advised to contact their bank, PayPal or card provider to try and recover their money.
Customers Say They Feel “Ripped Off”
The reaction online has been intense.
Social media and review sites quickly filled with angry comments from customers claiming they had been waiting weeks and sometimes months for deliveries.
Some shoppers said they only found out products were unavailable after paying. Others questioned why the company was still taking orders while reportedly facing financial trouble.
On review platforms like Product Review and Trustpilot, frustrated buyers described the experience as “stressful” and “a nightmare”.
Aussies Warning Others To Be Careful
The collapse has sparked fresh warnings about online shopping.
Many Australians are now urging people to check reviews carefully before buying from unfamiliar retailers, especially when deals seem too good to be true.
For now, affected customers are hoping their banks can help recover their money.
