A 16‑year‑old boy has been granted bail, after fronting court following an alleged attack that left a 15-year-old boy in critical condition at Townsville University Hospital.
After facing the Mount Isa Childrens Court, charged with allegedly causing grievous bodily harm during an altercation at the Mount Isa Show on Saturday night, Newscorp reports the teen was granted bail and the matter is scheduled to return to court on August 11.
Family members of the injured boy have described him as polite, well‑mannered and not someone who sought out trouble, with relatives expressing deep concern for his recovery. He remains in a critical but stable condition.
Authorities have not released the identities of either boy due to legal restrictions.
