Accused murderer Darryl Valroy Young faces court over alleged Bogie shooting

Darryl Valroy Young – the man accused of shooting and killing three of his neighbours at a cattle property in Bogie – has appeared in court for the first time.

Mr Young, 59, appeared via video link at Proserpine Magistrates Court, charged with the triple-murder of Mervyn and Maree Schwarz and her son – Graham Tighe.

He is also charged with the attempted murder of Ross Tighe – Graham’s brother and Maree’s son – who was shot in the abdomen and flown to Mackay Hospital.

Ross remains in hospital, in a stable condition.

Mr Young’s case has been adjourned until November and he has been remanded in custody.
