Kirwan man stabbed at North Queensland pub

A Kirwan man has been stabbed multiple times during an altercation at a Mt Isa pub.

It will be alleged at 11.10pm Saturday, an altercation occurred between two men in the Miles Street business in which a 31-year-old victim received several stab wounds to his body.

He was taken to Mount Isa Hospital in a serious condition.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Holmview man in the car park of the venue.

He has been charged with one count each of wounding and going armed so as to cause fear.

He was denied police bail and is due to appear before the Mount Isa Magistrates Court today.
